for some reason most exhaust shops dont want to touch an ORY.......

i could care less about ordering them in race version....ahh the benefits of working at a fabrication shop...now if we only had a mandel bender..id prolly be making some money after i got my y-pipe on

yeah, wouldnt it be possible to just cut off the emissions ****, and lay a weld over the hole?

Ok folks my x-mas gift to myself came in today. I must say im more than happy. If you want specific pics of anything on them tell me now and I'll do it.

So anyhow quick breakdown

*Nice welds
*think flange
*good quality
*collectors are straight
*Emissions stuff looks good and sturdy
*Flange is flat

Without further adeu the pictures

Comparing your top pic of the passanger side and your bottom pic of the driver's side, you will notice that the passanger side is parallel with the exhaust flange and the driver's side is pointing upwards at about a 10 degree angle. This will cause it to point directly at the brace and fuel/brake lines that pass through that area. I just made a simple S directly after the header, but it was pretty tight. I also massaged the brace under the car for a little more clearance. If I knew it prior to install, I would have cut about 3-6 inches off the header to allow a smoother bend. These are the only Fbody headers I have installed, so I don't know if all the other headers do this, but it doesn't make any sense to do that just to have to make a bend directly after this area to clear the body.

Good luck with the install.

Galen

Yes the Drivers side does angle up like you just pointed out, this is the only thing that annoys me about these headers. This is also why I was saying a jet hot or tsp ory will not work, youll have to get one custom made until they start producing their own y pipe, or they simply tweak the DS header so it doesnt angle up which is what id rather have.

My custom Y for my XS headers had to take a steep drop right after the ds collector. My Friend has Jet Hott lts/Jet Hott y pipe and I looked at his and it kinda does the same thing. Looked like it might work. TSP y definately won't, tried that already.

Id like to see pics of the AIR/EGR fittings/ the tubes where they go into the primaries. I want to see how big the welds are around that area, see what I can do to plug it up, or if I should just leave it on there. Thanks in advance..

well heres the email i got from them this morning.

I HONESTLY HAVENT HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THAT , BUT I WILL DOUBLE CHECK
WITH
OUR SERVICE DEPT. ON THAT THANKS .

i also let him know hes created quite a buzz over here and would profit pretty greatly by making their own y-pipe.

deffinently an awsome product, the AIR fitting holes will be nothing to weld up, i was expecting an 1/8th or bigger which would be kinda tricky on thin metal like this. man LS1 headers arent very tall
