Default longtubes

is there any longtube that will pass emissions for illinois, i want to get headers but my dad is completely **** about emissions and i was wondering if theres any longtubes that will help em out

just depends..honestly no LT is legal, since it moves your cats from factory loaction, but most inspection shops will pass you as long as you have a catted Y pipe, and AIR & EGR long tubes...check the sponser...

get longtubes, a catless y pipe and ahve the car tuned. find you a ncie shady shop like im gonna do, slip'em a few bucks and tada problem solved

Or not even chance it.. and get a catted Y and be 100% legal, no matter what sort of test you go through.

I have lt's and a catted y here in Illinois and I have always passed. They don't do visual inspections here, they only check computer for thrown codes. Take the car to a local speed shop and have them tune out the unnecessary codes, they'll do that for around $50 or so.

longtubes arent legal anywhere. if you move the cats 6 inches from the factory palced areas you just violated the emissions law so you wont ever be 100% legal

its a 2500 dollar fine in MD for every cat removed. LOL So for us thats 5 grand. honestly im going catted for the same reason you are. However you can most likley get away with out it if you get it tuned and O2 sims and what not

Been thru emissions twice already in Md. with no cats on the car.

i live in IL and i don't know anything about any emissions testing? dont know anybody who has done it either. maybe it depends on the county?

Or you could move 50 miles south of Chicago into Kankakee county where there is no testing.Only around the big cities in Illinois are the only place they test here!!

im going with true duals and long tubes and no cats and they are talking about bringing inspection back idc haha
