Very nice gains! Did you have it tuned with the LS6 intake on or was that just bolt on and go to the track?

Here's my injector clip removal method.

1st) Stick screwdriver in between plastic and metal clip as shown

2nd) Pry the clip down untill it pops over the "hump" and slides down 3/16" or so.

3rd) Slide metal clip rest of way down on ONE SIDE only.

4th) At this point, you should be able to remove the connector from the injector.

5th) Simply click the metal part back into the original location. This will keep it from getting lost, or worse, falling into a port on the head. You can just click the plugs back onto the injector on re-install and don't have to worry about popping it out again.

Hope this helps for next time...

lol you realize you can just push in on rounded part of the metal clip and it spreads the sides apart so you can slide the plug off.

Didn't know that, but I'll try it.

I imagine it's pretty tough to push them when they are squeezed inbetween **** and way up under the cowl. I can do them fast with the flathead.

no way man, yea all you do is push in on that little lump and it just spreads them right apart and pop off the clip. i was really surprised when i found that out on my 94 camaro when i did heads and cam.

I believe the differences from LS1 intake to LS6, but I do wish I had a couple of pics showing them side by side. Nothing like seeing it! The intake swap is getting higher up on my priority list after reading this though.

matt94z: The car already had a tune, and has not been tuned since the install of the intake. I don't think that it needs one, or if it does, I'd be scared to see how much it would gain with a tune. I think that it's fine as is. I certainly don't hear/feel any detonation.

Blur: that's basically what I did, just with a hook pick, and I took the clip all the way off and laid it on the air filter.

I'm glad that my install is actually helping someone, I didn't think that it would. I just posted the pics really to show how dirty it was under the damn intake.

Cool, I'll be doing my swap as soon as I get the Emmision stuff turned off so I don't have any codes.

I love mine. 3.5k+rpms and she screams!

It took my car about 2-3 days of driving for her to find the right idle rpm though.

She would sit at ~850-900rpms after the intake install. Now its back to stock.

Did anyone else notice this?

I myself was surprised at the difference when I pulled the LS1 off and sat it next to the LS6. I knew I should have taken pictures for you guys.

The average gain IIRC was about 10-12 rwhp. Of course, that is a static gain, and doesn't take into account cars like mine with free-breathing intake tracts that gain horsepower as they get moving.

But if you want to stay slow, just keep that LS1 intake.

There's a big diff between the manifolds. I've been wanting to do this for a long time. I did the intake gasket on my cousin's dodge this weekend, that was easy. So I figure I can handle the LS6 Swap.
