Huh? ~$300 is the norm that most people charge someone to have them tune a vehicle. You can charge someone as much as you want if you have the program.

Usually its enough to cover getting the liscense.

I don't want to influence you getting one but my car honestly did feel faster when hypertech programmed (it probably wasn't though). I did get rid of it per everyones advice from here. I bought my car used and it came with many worthless "speed" parts. Here is the list:

hypertech programmer
tornado
flowmaster exhaust system

They all were removed within a few months of getting the car.

Ive got the HPtuners and you can mess with anything with this program. Its so confusing to me though im still learning how to work and what to do and stuff. But do not buy a handheld just get somebody to tune it for ya.

to answer the question. yes i purchased a superchips programmer. and i did notice a slight gain. was it worth it. i think so.as for my reason, i dont have a reputable shop close enough that i know or trust, and i wasnt to sure about me doing it myself. i didnt want to do unnessary harm to the computer. and i wasnt going to trust some kid that had just watched the fast and the furious thinking he can tune a car, and hit his little button of nos.

I would not recommend getting a hand held tuner. They dont net you any power. Plus you pretty much use them once and your done with them. If you spend that money on a professional tune, you will increase you horsepower, drivablity, etc. They are just not worth the money IMO...

I have a Predator and I love it. It may not be a HPtuners but it sure as hell works. My time before the tune was 13.81 after the tune it was 13.45. Most of the people on here say that they are "gameboys" and are absolutely worthless when they havent even owned one. It sucks because other people say they suck

I highly doubt there are many low 13 stock cars with 2.73s. But you do have a point. They may see no benefit, or may even be harmed with a tune. I am just saying my experience with it, and just trying to prove that it is not always a waste of money. I eventually will have to move up higher to HPtuners but the diablo serves me well with the mods I have now.

Well I had a HPPIII on a previous car. Where I live I can get a dyno tune with LS1EDIT for $150. Even if I had to pay 400+ to buy in it's better than a handheld. They are a waste of money....PERIOD.
