My biggest undertaking thus far...
1. Part # for GM MLS gaskets? I'm going to need some and can't find the PN...
2. since I'm going w/ race style headers I can safely remove the AIR or unplug the fuse and not need to do anything else right? No block off plates etc needed?
3. What type of gasket should I go with for the flanged collectors + ORY?
4. Kinda off topic, but I don't know much about a well designed ORY. What characterics should one have? Check out the pic below and tell me if it's good or poor. It is supposed to be mandrel bent.
Wish me luck hopping to be done by the end of the month but have already had some setbacks...
For the AIR system, remove pump and pull off attatched hoses/lines. You will get an SES code, but can be fixed once you tune your car. You'll also have to block off a small vacuum line located towards the rear of the intake manifold on the driver's side.
Don't know what type of gasket you should go with on the collectors.
Good luck with the install, just take it slow and you'll get it done. You've got to start somewhere.
SES light I'm not worried about. I see a tune in my cars future... I knew on the exhaust manifolds there was blocking needed but I didn't think there was anything on the intake manifold I had to block off though. I'll have to check if Speed INC's Block of package includes one for the intake. Would I still have to block it if off if I just unplug the fuse and leave the AIR semi installed? Is that even possible going w/ LT's?
Anyone have any opinions on the design of this Y-pipe?
