ok I read it..I see....so basically all of that to avoid the oil consumption? Will I need a catch can or anything afterwards?

all it is is a line going from the valley cover to the manifold? what does that do? why even run a line from the valley cover to the manifold? I dont quite see the point...and how it actually works...

anyone?

Some use a catch can for excessive oil consumption, I did not. I REALLY did this for appearance purposes, as goofy as that may sound, but it really cleans up that area nicely.

That LS6 valley cover takes the place of the rest of the PCV system as I understand it and that's what allows for the crankcase ventilation. So yes, that line is definitely needed,

Yep, you run a hose from the LS6 valley cover pipe to the intake manifold with the PCV valve still in place. That link shows how to do it.

Here's a pic of my set up with braided lines:

As you can see, you still need to maintain the hose from the throttle body to the passenger side valve cover. That will provide the fresh air.

By the way, I can't remember the exact price of the LS6 valley cover, but I think I paid around $50 for it through my dealer. It's a pretty easy swap if you've ever taken off the intake manifold, which apparently you have if it's painted.

Only mods required, and it's in that writeup, is you may have to cut off a small section of the block in order for the LS6 cover to seat properly. It's CRITICALLY important to seal up all the intakes ports and throughly vacuum and clean that area when finished.

hey man..yeah im actually in the midle of a head/cam swap...so the valley cover is there on front of me...I figured why not go ahead and do it..itll clean things up...

i bought the FAST and had it painted, it awaits install...

they said on 02 cars there is no cutting...which is nice...looks like a pretty simple things for me at this point...

wow i LOVE the braided lines...did you just buy your own line and run them all?

how to the fittings on the end work if you really arent screweing them to anything?

Thanks man, awesome info!

I would assume the fresh air hose wouldn't be necessary when running a breather ?

I believe everyone still runs a fresh air hose even with the breather. The breather is for people who don't do the LS6 valley cover swap but keep the LS1 cover and delete the PCV.

A lot of people do. As per my post, this was mostly an appearance mod for me, not an oil consumption issue. My whole goal is to clean up and delete as much crap out of the engine bay as possible therefore I don't want to add a catch can to clutter it up even more. If I did have the oil consumption problems, then a catch can may have to be added.

I thought if you run a breather you would have to delete the entire pcv system.

rip it all out, plug the holes, and stick 2 breathers on it. reduces useless engine compartment clutter.
