Default Question

I will be swapping my intake for an LS6 intake soon. Do I have to use the LS6 style coolant tubes on the front and rear of the heads, or can I plug the rear? As you can see from the pic, I also have some serious cleanup to do. And also, I wonder what ROCKET SCIENTIST GM engineer came up with the balancer bolt idea. He needs his *** kicked.

good god man....clean that poor thing....yes you need the coolant tubes...i see you have the block out so breaking the oil sending unit wont be a problem....just make sure all the bolts are torqued to spec

They sell a front coolant pipe, and just plugs for the rear. Some people have used the LS1 pipe and "trimmed" the bottom of the new intake for clearance. I'd just get the LS6 pipe/plugs.

Thanks for the answer. I wasn't sure if I needed the crossover tubes front and rear, or just front. I have cleaned it up and also pulled the heads since I took the picture. I am going with 241 heads, 918 springs, titanium retainers and Eastside cam also.

I would try flattening the tube and clearancing the bottom of the intake manifold if you have time. Or you could just cut/pinch off/weld the rears to make plugs and do the same to the front to make it into a crossover.
