do you want loud and lopey or quiet and stealthy? do you wanna go for big performance gains at the expense of driveability or do you want to keep the car comfortable to drive? do you want to retain fuel economy or do you want to blow the economy to hell? do you have an A4 or an M6? depending on which, you may need to make a separate fund for a rebuild. if you have an A4, is it stalled, and if so, to what RPM? do you intend to go FI turbo/blower/nitrous in the future?
there's no way we can give you cam suggestions without telling us exactly what you want in the cam. all i can tell you is, when people don't know what in God's name they want out of the cam, they usually go with a TR224 because it's a basic, mild-mannered cam that gives decent gains and seems to work well with any setup.
my car is a 99 Z28 m6 with the stock 10bolt and t56.
yes, i know the 10bolt will need to be replaced after seeing some power. hell it needed replacing 10k miles ago without seeing any more power than what my car puts out stock.
as far as mpg and comfort.. circa 15mpg min. and i need to be able to drive it everyday.
new setup will be:
ls2 timing chain and new sprockets
cam <---the big question
set of comp 918 springs
ls6 intake
LT headers (undecided brand)
catted y (undecided brand)
b&b catback
and finally a dyno tune
down the road i dont intend on spraying or going fi but if the need for more power arises(which im sure it will) ill snag a set of heads.
i want it to be a good street car with ~400 hp and near that in ft.lbs. as for sound, well, i want the mustang next to me to know that it is cammed...
i hope this helps.
