Help !! Bbk Tb Feels Like Its Sticking
I just bought an 80 mm bbk tb used and i put it on and the car has patriot stage 2 heads and a comp cam with about 400 hp its a six speed. so it idles very well when i turn it on but when i take it driving it some time stays idled at like 2000 rpm at a stop light for like 20 seconds then it drops back to normal. Then i will come off the express way doing like 80 mph and when i come to a stop it feels like way over accelerated . Is the tb stick and how can i fix this problem. thanks for the help

are u an automatic or manual car?
the car will hang at the rpms for a while if it is doing something or just that.. its hanging. you need to feel the throttle and check to see if it does it if you have the hood open and move the cable to the TB to move the gas pedal. if its an auto..does the car want to move more than normal when u let off the brake?
2krpm seems high for just hanging there... i have had mine hang at 1400-1500 before but it doesn't do it anymore.. don't know if i tuned it and fixed something.

tb
i have the bracket and space and it is installed right. but just does what i described feels like its over accelerated. like the rpm hang at like 2000 and like 20 seconds later drop to 1000 which is my normal idle . with my stock tb i never had that problem.

Check the free play of both the TB and the cable (under the hood). Try switching the stock TB back on there and see if it still does the same. If so something else is wrong but if not, you know its definately the TB. In that case just removing it and resinstalling it might help but if it is really sticking you might need to sand down the throttle blade somewhat.
