Default real LS6?

OK I tried searching but it isnt workin for me and I tried the stickies but im lookin into buyin a used LS6 intake and wanna make sure I get a real LS6 intake. Isnt their a site where you can enter in the intake number to verify its a real LS6 intake? Any other differences would be appreciated.

Thanks

i was under the impression that a new one isn't that much. For the most part, used ls6s are going to be far and few between cause unless you stroking or doing f.i. the ls6 would be fine so people don't really take them off. So, I'd be weary about buying a used one. Why not just buy a new one and spend a little extra for piece of mind?

theres used ones all the time in the classifieds here on tech. you just have to be fast because they sell so quickly. one easy way to tell is to get a pic of the underside of it, if its flat, its a LS6, also there shouldnt be an EGR hole in the front of it. i dont have a pic but i know there are some floating around on tech somewhere.

On the LS1 the bottom of the intake is not flat., but they have the X shaped bracing between the ports.
On the LS6 manifold, it has a flatter bottom and 1 verticle w 2 horizontal ribs in the area between the ports.

Note the difference in the area between the ports and the LS1 having the bump in the middle.

The STOCK LS6's also do not have EGR provisions, unless the are fabricted.

Here is a pic. The LS1 is on the left.

they do but it should still look the same on the inside, just has a hole drilled for the EGR to screw into
