CA exhaust ?'s
If your manifolds look like this, I just assumed that the cats would be right under the merge connectors.
The January issue of GMHTP has an article on a '94 Formula that they are working on. There is a pic of the PaceSetters on page 68. What is the difference between '93 and '94, if any?
Thanks for the exchange. It was cool to get some knowledge on the LT-1s. Maybe some day this state will get wise and drop these ridiculous smog laws so we can all run longtubes, with cats of course!!!
See ya out there bro!!!

These are stock manifolds for your '93. Look "short" don't they?

MACS. They look longer

These are the PaceSetters that are in that issue of GMHTP, Jan. 2007. They are for a '94 but are the same for a '93:

These are my shorties which PaceSetter also claim are "mid length":

If you want to say that your headers are "mid length" you have every right. Just remember that your "mid lengths" are C.A.R.B. approved because they do not move the location of the cat. If they were to move any bit they would not get approved.
All I want to do is clarify.

why are you showing me stock manifolds anyways?my headers are WAY longer then that.
i agree that your headers are shorties, but mine are longer then yours.mine are the same length as the macs
and i know they dont move the cat.the cat is after the y-pipe as ive told you 2 times already.
the part number for the 94 headrs you posted a pic of is "70-1335" the part number for the 93`s is 70-1338.they have a diferent part number because they are different headers.
next time you want to "clarify" you should get your facts straight.

Also I have been reading a lot about headers lately and I know that QTP or Kooks are most often the favorite, but how much of a difference is there between Pacesetter ceramic coated headers and say Kooks headers? It just seems like droppin a grand for some headers is a lil bit much
thanks for all the info
Technically anything that moves the cats is illegal (ie, longtubes). You will fail the visual if they know to look for it.
You really don't want to be installing and uninstalling headers, that will be a pain in the *** and take a long time every two years. Better to stick with one or the other and take your chances.
I know dumping a grand on headers is crazy. The difference is not in the performance (they are pretty much the same) the difference is in the material. Stainless or mild steel. Might want to research ebay headers (see the sticky) they are stainless and for much less money. Otherwise tried and trued Pacesetters are an excellent deal.
