BTW those sparco's look killer I am going to get some evo XLs this year and I was wondering did you use the sparco rails if so how were they?higher or lower etc?
What about him and the guy after they said the torque is still there.

Chrispy says,
Unless you are planning above 400ci I would stick with the 1 3/4. You'll trade a lot of midrange (sometimes 30#s torque) for "maybe" 5-10 above 6Krpm.

What if you planning a 383 like me? I thought more cubes were a good thing with 1 7/8s? I didnt know it had to be 400ci or bigger to get the benefit of having the bigger headers.

I ran a 385ci combo and went with a 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 header. It made great torque (400RWTQ at 3000rpm) through cats. (I ran the edelbrocks)

If you are running a blower I would go 1 7/8th for sure on stock displacement. 7#s of boost is effectively increase your displacement by close to 50%.

You want to maximize area under the curve and not just peak RWHP to go fastest. Especially in the heavier f-body's we drive. (We aren't drag racing 2500 pound cars with 5.13 gears and 5000 stall converters turning 8000prm)

I am not running a blower but I have 150 wet shot and forged 383 in near future.
I was hoping 383stroker would increase TQ

Im bringing this back cause I think im ready to order some headers. The setup im looking to most likely run would be a MS4 cam, PRC 2.5 5.3l heads, fast 90/90. Later on I might run a 150 shot on top of that but not sure if I will want too. Anyway do you think it would be best to run the 1 3/4 with that setup to try and keep a little low end power or just move up to the 1 7/8? I could also run the 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 but they cost even more.

I've got (or will have once I get it back together in a week or so) about the exact same setup you have. Perhaps the only difference will be the cam. However, I just ordered my Kooks on Tuesday and I went with the 1 3/4" X 3" SS race headers...

From what I've read and what Kooks recommended, this should be more than ample for my setup.

And...I understand that 1 7/8" are a little harder to install...and might require some modification to the K-member, etc...

Good luck with your decision!
