Header recommendations??
Well, I pulled the LTs off the car I just bought and can't figure out what brand they are but they are not a quality set. As it stands, the flange needs to be milled because it is so screwed so I am thinking of just getting a new set. I would like a set of Kooks but they seem so expensive. Are they worth the extra money over a set of say Hookers, etc...

If you dont have the coin then go with coated pacesetters.

Thanks. I just looked at the QTPs and really like those. I may go with them instead. Its not really money being an issue, I just want to make sure that the performance is that much better since the price is that much higher.

the headers price is more to do with the fit and durability then the power. if you live near a coastal state or high snow/road salting, then s/s is the only choice, if not coated steals a good deal. theres also edelbrock offering s/s now i think..

actually the fit has nothing to do with the price cuz pacesetters are the best fitting headers ive ever installed. ive done quite a few header installs on these cars and i have to hand it to the pacesetters...they go in easy, they clear everything very well, and they are very reasonably priced. and as far as performance, all long tube headers will basically sound the same and produce the same gains...so go for fitment and durability. stainless steel is of course the ideal way to go, but its definitely not necessary. ive had 3 sets of pacesetters now, which are ceramic coated, and though u may get a lil surface rust now and then, u can clean it right off with a rag and some polish. pacesetters are the best bang for the buck. their y pipe is a different story, so let's not even get into that
