Could be, my TDs banging isn't constant either. Some mornings it's there at idle, others, not.

ok hope this makes sense.....I heard the same noise when I had my TSP-Y pipe w/ cats and hooker catback. Well now I have TD's w/cats and its still doing it. The exhaust shop kept my TSP Y pipe section with the cats unchanged, but after the cats he did the True Duals. It may be the Y-pipe section hitting?????? comments/solutions?

Just may be, do you have poly mounts? I'd crawl under there and take a look at the "suspect" areas, that is, areas that are insanely close to the body. I remember seeing Blur's setup, and he had <1/4" in some spots, and with poly mounts he said he was getting NO contact, just a thought.

Yourself, from what I understand they are more time consuming than anything (headers should come off). I wont lie, I haven't even done 'em, but I'm just gonna wait until I do H/C since the headers will be off anyhow. I know shops also do them, but I'm not sure what the going rate is.

I know a few shops locally quoted 400 bucks to install. Mainly because it involves taking lots of **** off I believe.

Kinda sounds like cat shields. Also could be exhaust is hitting against the trans, or exhaust is hitting against the floorboard. Get under there and check the clearance of those two items while the engine is idling.

Check your flux capacitor, it could be contacting your shifter linkage, causing a similar sound.

Seriously look into the cat sheilds. I had a weird vibration noise at idle and certain rpms so i took it to the dealership and they charged me 1800 to rebuild the rear end, only to leave the dealership w/ the same vibration
