i wanna take the tips and all that bullshit off the car, so im thinking about getting 2 dump tips and welding them on the ends of the muffler where the dual 2 1/2" pipes would come out. what do you guys think of that?

Are you talking at the bumper level or back near the rear?

Its funny you mention it because I was on the 60 today, saw another fbod, and thought the same thing ("how would that exhaust look dumped just before the bumper?").

that is exactly how my exhaust is done, it sounds good, and mine are actually angled, not straight down... so its not as bad about kicking up dust and ****.

I was thinking of (semi) dumping mine before I install my TDs.

Mine would be more ghetto-style (b/c I'd use my Sawzall)--> I would remove my Hooker tips and cut the exit pipes from the catback at roughly a 45 degree angle (90 degrees would be impossible).

It would probably take me an hour and it would be a fun comparison.

thats it right there, cut the exit pipes completely off the muffler and putting a dump at each outlet facing down.

My friend had an old 69 Chevelle that had the dual exhaust turned down and angled after the back tires. I always wanted to mimic that to see how it would look, but went the cheaper route and got duals dumped before the axle

You mean like this..

I bought my TSP Rumbler with no tips just so I could toss on some turndowns instead. I patined the exhaust black. I like the look much better.

Hey John, did you test it out before installing the turndowns? If so, how much louder is it?

No I didn't test it. I bought the exhuast and installed it all with the turndowns at the same time.

not like that. im talking about welding the turndowns directly on the sides of the flowmaster outlets where the exit pipes are at right now.
