Default 98 to LS6 heads, Need coil brackets too?

Simple question guys, if I switch from my '98 heads to some new LS6 heads I know I need newer (center bolt style) valve covers, but do I also need updated coil mounting brackets? (I already have the valve covers btw)

Will my '98 coils bolt right up to the newer brackets?

Thanks, Greg

Yes, with the 98 style brackets, the coil packs and brackets both bolt to the valve cover using the same bolts. With the 99+ valve covers, the coil packs first bolt to the bracket, then the brackets bolt to the valve covers... Kinda weird to describe, but you'll understand once you get the new set.

Well you can get the LS6 valley kit(2001+ LS6 Engine Valley Cover (1x GMPN 12568002) ), but instead of spending MORE money, i opted for just deleting the PCV system. GL

Get the LS6 pcv for it as well. That way you are not forced to delete it and run a breather setup.

So you are just talking about picking up just the LS6 valve itself from dealer? Or can they be had anywhere else? The LS6 has a restrictor built in correct?

I also plan on running a catch can as my engine compartment is too clean to take a chance of any oil mist from a breather, so the PCV system stays.

Thanks!
