Default H-pipe

I was going to put a h-pipe on my camaro ss and I was wondering if I need any special headers or if I can just run my stock headers?

How exactly are you going to put an hpipe on? You're putting on True Duals, right? (you would have to be to run an hpipe...) Technically it doesn't matter what manifolds (stock or aftermarket) you have installed, it just makes a difference how the true duals are going to hook to the system. It'll work just fine with stock manifolds.

Yoiu can use your stock manifolds, but it would be pretty dumb. go longtubes or bust. from there id personally have it custom fabricated. an H pipe is great for sound but an X pipe will make a few more horses if thats what your ultimatly after

No company makes h-pipe setups especially for 4th gen f-bodys. You will have to go to an exhaust shop and have something fabbed up. I went with a Flowmaster universal h-pipe setup (#15933 on Summit Racing).

Does it sound good? Why kind of mufflers do you have on it?

You do realize that you'll have to rebuild the entire exhaust system to have an H-pipe right? H-pipe (and x-pipes) are only found on "true duals". Our cars come equipped with a Y pipe, an H-pipe "added into that" would be completely pointless.

When someone says "my car has an H-pipe", they are talking about what kind of true duals they have.

imho all true duals sound good and an h pipe sounds the best, x sounds great too. you can hardly hear a diff....the main benefit is flow. mufflers are a personal choice ls1sounds.com should give you a better idea

I am at a loss for words again this morning. have an exhaust shop custom build you a setup. If you want to know what an X pipe sounds like I have a video in my sig under "true duals". They are relatively the same sound wise.
