I had them on my '94 B4C...I liked them a lot...Noticeable difference in performance...Decent looks when new, but eventually got really dirty. I had to heat them and bend them a little because they would bump the trans bracket at full throttle..I don't know if you would have that problem on the LS1. Mine tucked up nicely, never bottomed them out...unlike my SLP LM1 exhaust, lol...

In the case of Hooker Headers for these cars they fall under the "other" catagory, not that they are bad but its really pacesetter or kooks/qtp mostly.

I've used hooker products before and was quite pleased. I'm sure a search can show you some more info about them they do look quite nice but do cost a bit more then pacesetters and are rumored to make same power.

i've got the stainless version of those headers and i like them alot. they fit awsome. There tucked up pretty tight, i've never bottomed them out and my car is lowered. I read on hear all the time that the 02 sensors are on the outside on the hookers, but mine are definatly on the inside. Not sure of the actual power gains they made on my car as i havn't takin it to the track since i put them on.

If you don't want to spend the money on stainless, Pacesetters are the way to go. They fit perfect, perform great, and are cheap as hell.
