Any updates on how long you can go before you have to empty those bad boys?

Default oil

I just installed this home depot can about 3 weeks ago theres ten drops of oil at around 300 miles.

I'm keeping a close eye on this thing I've read here that after a couple of weeks the amount of oil caught won't change meaning it's getting sucked into the intake.

I think empying will be at minium once every 3K miles so I'm planning on making a bigger can W/breather.

Right now I'm wondering w/ clean oil in motor will the caught oil vapors also be clean or be that funkie black crape, current oil has 3K + miles?

I have to empty mine every.. week and a half or so. I dont let it go more than half, but when I drive my car, I drive it everyday, and I dont go just short distances.

Default air compressor section

air compressor section of home depot store.

I'd think one crankcase breather would be sufficient.

Mine gets emptied every 2 tanks of gas (500-600 miles). This is the point where it gets half way and doesnt catch any more oil.

Make sure you install it backwards to catch more oil. The arrow on the filter should point back towards the pcv.

How does it catch more oil this way? It doesn't inhibit airflow through the tube with it backwards?

I was told to set it up this way and mine fills about twice as fast versus the normal way when tested on my car. I believe it allows the oil to condense on the filter stone and then drip down into the can.

would backwards be having the arrow pointing towards the valve cover? i have it going to the intake right now, since that would be the correct direction of airflow i assume. i guess having it backwards would be having the arrow point to the hose going in the valve cover...

Dan, I dont think that is a Home Depot catch can. The filter within it is a different type, I believe coalescing filter (look at the bottom and it is different), plus it has a different screw in billet top. I think this is a aftermarket using a actual filter designed to seperate oil with the air, which is a coalescing.
Look at this article and view the filter, I think JEGS is this type.

does every on tie into it at the front of the intake or back at the y on the back of the motor?

and is there a one way valve on the factory set up. if so does it need to stay there?
