Second. What's an "*** mod"?
Third. If you are trying to start an argument just to get people to throw a fit....Stop.
Fourth. Your in California, so what do you care?

shorties flow just as well as longtubes. so since shorties flow just as well, why do longtubes make 20 horsepower over shorties?
the answer is longtubes scavenge a lot better. the extra flow of headers vs stock manifolds is only worth ~5 horsepower on a stock car. the proof is that's all you gain when you go to shorties. the "long tubes" that make up the longtubes increase the exhaust scavenging which in turn increases exhaust velocity which in turn increases horsepower. the reason why QTP's HVMC's make horsepower over kooks is because they increase the exhaust scavenging.
yes, all longtubes dyno relatively the same - on stock cars. on highly modded cars, it's a totally different story. why do you think they make 1 7/8 headers? because with all that extra power, you're gonna need the bigger headers. on a very aggressive H/C car, stroker motor or a supercharged setup on a high psi can easily make 5-10 rwhp over kooks by taking advantage of QTP's HVMC's. it's no bullshit. people have it beaten into their head that flow = power. that couldn't be further than the truth. flow is simply a component of a good exhaust setup, and while kooks and QTP's flow about the same, the QTP's better scavenging make them a superior header for power gains.
my $0.02. take it for what it's worth.
OK let me clear some stuff up1. I meant to say (such as mods)
2. I know that shorties flow the same than long tubes, its the aded length that makes the power due to scavenging
3. just because im in California doesnt mean ****!!! i have Kooks with Y on the way
4. the reason for my post was for the claims that people are claiming due to there QTP HVMC over KOOKS
5. im not trying to start an argument, im speaking my mind
6. Chocotaco I agree with what you said as is stated on my post, that if you have a big HP car QTP HVMC would give you those kinds of gains, THANKS for the info!!!
