Got this from Amsoil's website.

I'm running it and so is my buddy. His GTO dropped by 20 degrees in temp running this stuff. It's compatible with ALL type of coolant (dexcool, non-dexcool) plus it's non-toxic (Not that I'm a tree-hugger lol)

Lasts Longer
AMSOIL Antifreeze & Coolant contains a proprietary poly organic acid technology. It eliminates the need for supplemental coolant additives and recharging cooling systems. AMSOIL Antifreeze & Coolant provides extended service life in all gasoline and diesel vehicles. It can be used for seven years or 250,000 miles in passenger cars, light-duty trucks, vans and recreational vehicles. It lasts seven years or 750,000 miles in over-the-road diesel trucks. Also for motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles and closed marine applications. AMSOIL Antifreeze and Engine Coolant lasts longer than conventional products.

Compatible With Other Fluids

AMSOIL Antifreeze & Coolant is dyed neutral yellow and is compatible with all ethylene and propylene antifreeze and coolant formulations on the market, including DEX-Cool®, Sierra® and Zerex®. It is also compatible with fully formulated diesel anti-freezes and other organic acid technology (OAT) and hybrid organic acid technology (HOAT) formulations.

Stops Leaks
AMSOIL Antifreeze & Coolant adheres to metal. It self-seals hairline cracks in welds and seams to prevent leaks, without additional stop-leak products or fibrous materials.

^^ how much is it? and do you fill your whole system up with it, or is it a 50/50 mix with water?

to change your dex out, you can even do it w/o the car being put up if it's stock height. slide your head under the front on the passenger side and you'll see a drain plug. un-screw it and put a pan under it and let it drain. use a 50/50 dex and distilled water and fill her up. don't forget to tigthen that screw back up!!! if you have high mileage, might as well put a lower temp t-stat on while it's drained.

THIS IS PROBABLY ALREADY PRE-MIXED WITH A COOLANT ADDITIVE!! WHICH THEREFOR WOULD HAVE THAT BENEFIT TO BE ABLE TO ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR SUPPLEMENTAL COOLANT ADDITIVES!!! IT'S ALL BS!!!

Regardless of what you say is BS, I have proof that this stuff works!

Read my post over. Another member's GTO dropped 20+ degrees and has since been tuned and driven over 4,000 miles.

Opinion v. Actual Proof? I'll go with actual proof.

No one said that Amsoil was simply a coolant. There probably are additives in it. For $20 a bottle, I'd hope so, but IMO it's worth every penny.

And it's not premixed either. They recommend a 70/30 mix for optimal results.

This coolant is not pre-mixed and is a propylene glycol formula not ethylene glycol like conventional coolants. It is unlikely to see much of any temp change when changing coolants or using additives due to the cooling system being controlled by a thermostat. The coolant temp will always meet at least the thermo temp when running.

See the direct link for more info on the AMSOIL Coolant with charts on mixing amounts.

tap what has certain impurities in it that will damage your radiator after time....

we use a dex mix in our patrol cars....stuff works really well, considering we have 5000 pound cars running every electrical thing known to man, and have the a/c running at idle....

i'm not doubting it works... i'm saying it is already mixed with an additive like red line and royal purple sale. they made their on version and mixed it with their coolant and that's why they state that you don't need to use any additives. that's what i wrote in the last post.

i wouldn't use the green stuff... not good for aluminum! but if you want to ruin the aluminum parts, be my guess. you'll be paying that hefty bill.

You won't have any adverse effects running green if you keep up on coolant system maintenence. I've switched both my Z and my Jimmy over to the green stuff because of all the horror stories I've heard with the Dexcool, not to mention the sludge I've seen in some motors after a couple years.

I don't drive my Z enough to worry about it, and change the coolant at least once a year. Advance Auto's pre-diluted stuff works fine and is cheap, especially on sale

funny thing is ford has aluminum motors that they run the green **** in, and they've probably had less water pumps and motors to replace under warranty than GM has with dexcool...

The AMSOIL antifreeze is safe for aluminum. Read the data bulletin sheet at the link below. States safe for Aluminum Engine Blocks.

Keep it on a maintenance schedule, either coolant is coolant! Just dont mix or change, just flush the system every 2-3 years and you'll be fine.
