Unhappy MTI Clear Lid Problems?

Is anyone else having problems with theres? Mine will not stay on. Its hard as hell to get on period and once the engine starts or shakes the littlest bit the clamps pop. I do not have this problem with my current lid (not factory). Also is it supposed to come without a hole for the AIT sensor?

argggg

Mine fit fine for 2 years until one of the tabs cracked, never had a problem putting it on though. The whole for the sensor should have been drilled out.

I think TORCHD02TA meant to say was the AIR hole is not cut out, the IAT hole is still there.

I have had my clear lid on and off for 2 years now and no probs. They are a tight fit and you have to press down firmly and slide it into the tab slots.

No they are shipping them without the IAT sensor hole drilled. I have had both their regular everyday black lid and the clear lid. Same story.

I can't believe they aren't drilling the hole for the AIT sensor anymore, have you contacted MTI, maybe they can shed some light on the situation. very interesting.

Already sent zach a pm. I'm gonna try and got it on again today. Just so frustrating getting it on then going for a drive coming back only to find the clamps popped and sucking in unfiltered air.

what ive found is that a lot of people just dont know how to get them on.. or smooth bellows are keeping them from going back.

push down back tabs and then clamp it down in the front.. i seriously doubt its the actual lid. just saying

Well I've had the SLP lid and the carbon lid with zero problems.

Isn't that the only way to get it on?

you have to adjust the air filter alittle more, and adjust the lid, i push mine in very snug and the clips fit fine. one day i didnt push good enough on the lid and one of the clips fit did pip off.

oh yeah mine didnt come with the sensor hole either, they said yeah we dont do that anymore lol. oh well, also i didnt get a clamp either. o well...

it works, looks, and fits good.

No issues with mine...as stated just push it back all the way....As for the hole not being drilled, I just put a filter on my air hose....

My SLP lid has been fine, had the sensor hole, and has always fit nice and snug with minimal effort.
