O2 Sensors?

O2 Sensors? ok i hate to sound like a newbie, but i have a question. I just installed QTP lts (race style) and i bought 2 24inch O2 extensions. Now my question which plug do i plug the extension in? Do i plug it into the plug closet to the engine? or the one farthest back from the engine? I know that one end of the plug, plugs into the O2 sensor, and then plugs into the header. Hope i didn't confuse anyone 
The driver side one is way up by the damn driver side motor mount. The passenger side one is closer to the starter. Plug the extensions into those and route/zip-tie the excess wire so it doesn't get burned.
