PCV Problems

PCV Problems I recently purchased a heads/cam 2000 hawk with a fast90/nw90 and after driving it 8 hours home it used nearly 3 quarts of oil, mostly cruising at 3000rpm/85mph. After taking off the throttle body it's evident it all went there
. Car is still running stock ls1 pcv system. on the trip it had 5W30 Mobile 1 in it. Car currently has 51,8XX miles.
Now the question
If I add a catch-can won't that just trap the same amount of oil I was getting into my intake? Meaning I'll still be 3 quarts low (assuming I found one that holds that much) it just won't be in my intake?
What is the recommended pcv valve replacement, my auto parts store only had a purolator pcv valve in stock.
I've already installed the purolator pcv valve and swapped to Mobile 1 10W30. Don't recommend another oil because I can't get redline, royal purple, or the german castrol in my town.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
