ls6 descreen maf Hello, 2004 ctsv ls6.....I was wondering whether or not descreening my maf would be beneficial. I notice alot of the gto gys are doing it....I live in a humid climate (florida) not sure if that matters. And my car is not heavily modded. But Id like every hp/tq/throttle response increase I can get....
Also is descreening the maf only something I should do if I plan to get a nice tune? Thanks...

That’s a really "sticky" topic it seems. If you look at SLP's after market MAF they state removing the screen adds 105 cfm to there’s. So I believe it does make a difference. Whether or not its worth it is up to you. Most likely an unmodded car isn't going to see any real difference, probably no more than changing air filters really. I've had mine off for at least 2 years with no problems here in Oklahoma. We get at least 1 day of every type of weather here
