Default ? about Mac mids

I'm going to be installing mac mids in a week or so & did a search, however I didn't see anything about needing o2 extensions for the install. Will the front o2's reach or do I need extensions?? If so, what size extensions do I need??? Thanx

I just did mine this past weekend. One will reach (barely) but the other is about 1" too short. I used the vette o2's on mine.

They yeild a nice power gain btw. Sound pretty good too. I got a killer deal on mine otherwise I would've gone LT's.

MAC's work well, although there are better choices out there now.

You shouldn't need extensions. There is usually enough "stretch" in the stock harness to work. Just be careful on the passengers side. Make sure the wires are zipped tied away from the headers.

I got tooo good of a deal to pass up on these Macs also.....from what I've seen they only make about 5whp less up top than LT's & thats the only difference.....hopefully my front o2's reach

I went and bought a vette O2 like ASSMAN said. I picked up 17 rwhp and 16 rwtq with my Macs. I didn't think that was too shabby for what I paid for them.

I think the 02's are hit or miss. I didn't have any problem with mine reaching on my '99 when I had my MAC's.

o2's will reach. when you install them, try from the top. Pull the coil packs, valve covers, steering linkage and maybe the starter. They should drop right in.

I've installed about 20 sets of MACs, thay all go in easier from the top. Not to mention you don't need to get the car very high either so working in a driveway is a piece of cake. The only car they didn't go in this way was my wife's vert.

I disagree...I've had Mac's and they made quite respectable power. Numbers in my sig were with the Mac mids and ORY. And, I've read many other instances where folks will agree.

Now I will say, that I am switching to LTs...not due to dissatisfaction with the Macs, just because I have the car apart, had the money for Kooks and thought now would be a good time to do it.

Too each his own...I suppose...

+1...they are easy to install. My passenger side comes out the top and the drivers drops right out the bottom.

That is one plus to running them...

I only had to take off the coil packs, plugs, wires, and the passenger valve cover. It was a pretty easy install, fairly quick too.
