Default Advantages of larger pipes???

This may seem like a stupid question but....

I did a muffler swap last year... Took out the stock one and put in a Magnaflow. Nice deep tone, but it's so damn quiet. Is there any advantage of putting in larger exhaust piping between the catalytic converters and my magnaflow muffler? You know, replacing the section of piping where that FLAT camaro mid-pipe is and putting in larger piping. What will that do for my exhaust sound, Anything?

it will open it up a bit, but the muffler is doing its job, and does it very well. If you want to make it a bit louder take the cats out.

Ya it would... Bigger pipes = more airflow = More sound.

Bullet style mufflers would also make it louder...
