Exhaust Harmful?
Can a cut out/dump before the rear axle in a 2001 camaro SS be harmful to your health from the carbon dioxide seeping through the floor board and into the cabin. I know you can not always smell carbon dioxide... Also is there any chance the under car can ever catch on fire?
To the first question, I think you'll get a lil coming in from the doors and such, just try not to sit idling for too long and it should't be a big deal and to your second, no... never heard of the underside of a car catching on fire. Just try to make sure the cutout's facing DOWN and you should be okay
I guess there may be a .76% chance of fire. No way carbon dioxide can seep through your floor board unless your floor board is made of some mesh material. Install the cutout, dont think so deep into it. The only way I can see you having any problems is to install a turn down facing up towards the floor board, and that would be just plain dumb.
just dont sit with your car running, in your garage, the windows up, and no fan on in the car for more than 15 minutes or so and you will be fine... haha
it takes a lot of it to hurt you.. just sitting with it idling, even for long ammounts of time isnt going to kill you or anything.

I've got x-pipe w/o turndowns, ends before axle. Never get that much exhaust smell in the car. As long as you don't leave it running and go to sleep in it with the windows up you will be fine... Never had my floor boards catch on fire either...... Just have fun with the car, there's tens of thousands of cars with dumps and no issues.
