Default gut cat question

Looking to gut my cats. Is it easier to do it myself, or have the shop do it?..If so, Whats the simplest way to do it myself?
..thanks

It is easier not to do it, and just leave them alone. The gains are so minimal, I think that you will be going to more trouble than it is really worth.

again. Don't pay someone to destroy your cats either. That would be a shady shop to begin with.

if your really gonna do it....go with the suggested broom handle approach, but i might add...use some alcohol also, this will in turn help you justify beating the **** out of your expensive car parts the morning after....

lots of alcohol.........that way if you regret it, you can say you were drunk when you did it and justify it.

There is no justfiying the fact that you are making your car sound like **** unless it is a honda with a folgers can. Then you can get the "Certified Moron" stamp on your forehead.

If your worried about the flow of your cat you can get some high flow cats. I got some with my Dynatech Supermaxx headers which I swap the cats out with a straight though pipe also in the bits i brought. Cats are only put on for emmision tests.
People like RandomTechnology produce good high flow cats.

my camaro with gutted cats (actually one cat) sounded terrible, hollow raspy sounding, its hard to explain, but i hated it and had it taken off within a few weeks, either get rid of your cats or get high flows imo

well, the alky atleast justifys your ignorance, not neccessairly the fact your car sounds like redneck truck.

Plain and simple, if you gut your cats it's going to sound like ****, no matter what you do. Don't do that to your car. It's a 4th gen F-Body, not a mud boggin' 4X4.
