MAC mid lengths and MAC ORY?

I definetly noticed a difference when i first put the mids on. At that time, my only other mods were borla CB and a lid.

yes, and you put in a 23x/23x cam into a car with 00-02 manifolds, and an ory see what you can get from it, and then put the macs on and see what it does. they flow more. while the stockers are good pieces, its till a log style manifold which will always come into second place when each port has its own runner

Then what are shortys a downgrade? Have you ever seen a set of MACs? Your lstatement makes no sense at all. I even told you what i made on the dyno going from MACs to LTs going by your logic a car makes no gain going from stock manifolds to LTs, either way you are full of crap and shouldn't be giving advice on headers. Maybe its you that needs to try a search.

That didn't go well with his "theory" so he decided to ignore it.

Macs do net a gain, I love the added SOTP feel. As said before, shorty's must be a bigger restriction than stock.?.

You are definately confusing the MAC's and shorty headers. The MAC's are basically a 3/4 mid-length header and are much closer to LT's than stock manifolds. You can't run the same cats or ORY pipe as it won't fit. MAC's are very free flowing thus loosing little to no top end power. The difference with LT's is that they have longer tubes and are tuned in length to help scavenge better which will give you a little more power under the curve (mid-range). Here's a post with a good pic of the MAC's. Not even close to shorty headers.

I ran the MAC's for a couple of years and loved them. Easy to install and great ground clearance. A downside is the weld bead on the inside of the primary edge. So I ported the inside primaries to the correct measured inside diameter. I also had a Flowmaster collector welded in to remove the rasp.

We do what we do because it works and it's proven...

Pacesetter headers and ORY are good products and make good power...however, their not the greatest header ever made. There are other alternatives out there that sometimes fit peoples budgets/plans better than LTs would.

Some folks just don't see that though I suppose...

I gained 15rwhp and 16rwtq switching from Stock headers and ory to MAC/ORY. I still have them with my Procharger making 500rwhp/490rwtq on a mustang dyno. So I would say they work well enough.

I like my Mac mids. I didn't have any cats before I put the Macs on . I did notice a big differance after I put them on and it was so easy I could of done it with my eyes closed. Almost. They are a big improvement over the stock manifolds.

i made 400rwhp through mine, super easy install and my car is pretty low and it rarely scrapes.

Well I made 370 RWHP unlocked with "GASP!" the catted Y pipe. I really don't think they are nearly as bad as they are made out to be.

I have always heard the same thing. I guess you will never know until you take them off and re-dyno it. Probably not realy worth it though.
