Default Cat Back Question

In the midst of doing some research on cat-back systems. I think I've narrowed it down to 4 choices; 2 on the low end (talking about price not quality) and 2 on the high end.

On the low end:

SLP Loudmouth 2 or Magnaflow

On the high end:

GMMG or Corsa

Of the two groups, which is the best bang for the buck? I plan on adding headers later on this summer and a lid; maybe a tune but that's about it. Don't want to do much more.

GMMG or the magnaflow. If you have the money. I went with the hooker catback as it flows very well and also had quad tips.

It depends what you want. The GMMG will probably be the loudest and is a nice system. I like my Corsa but it has a unique sound that not everybody likes. The LM2 would be a good choice for a "quieter" system. I don't think I've ever heard Magnaflow in person so not sure about that one.

IMO i'd go with either corsa or magnaflow. i've heard both systems and love them both. the corsa system made my buddies car sound like it was going to eat someone!

I had Magnaflow. Nice sound, decent price. No rusting/fitment/clearance issues. It's a good buy.

i vote corsa. it's not the best bang-for-the-buck for sure as it's the most expensive catback out there, but it's also the most refined and (most will agree) it's the best looking. it's quiet when you want it, loud at WOT, has its own original sound that no other catback comes close to producing and the tips are amazing if you have the money and are sure you want to keep a y-pipe setup, it's money well spent. it also flows very well.

it's overall a little too quiet for my tastes, so i welded in a manual cutout. i have never put the cap on the cutout - ever. it sounds very good with the cutout open. 100% of the sound and exhaust gas DOES NOT go through the cutout, so when i'm crusing around, i get about 1/3 corsa sound, 2/3 raw engine and at WOT, i get about 1/2 or more corsa sound and a little less than half raw engine sound (since a lot of the exhaust gases at WOT are at max velocity and bypass the cutout). i really like it like this.

very well-made system, also. lightweight, too. when i got my cutout welded on, i held the part of the I-pipe that the cutout got welded into and i was amazed how light it was for such a big tube. even being stainless steel, it was feather-light.

magnaflow clip in my sig. I liked the magnaflow a lot, but the LM II is a nice system as well. If you have the money though GMMG sounds awesome as does corsa and it has the nicest tips by far.

I vote Magnaflow. If you ever get to modding it with longtubes, an ORYP, and a cam, there's a good chance the LM is going to be too much. I know my stock cam'd_LT_ORYP car didn't sound that great with a LM. I put a Dynamouth bullet in to quiet it down some, but still switched to Magnaflow to make it sound good once again.

Magnaflow. Well built, stainless steel, and probably the most reasonably priced of the bunch for what you get.

Has a nice tone, isn't very raspy with LTs/ORY, isn't exceptionally loud either.

Well, I appreciate all your help. I think I'm going with the new magnaflow system that I just read about in another thread.

Magnaflow is the most refined sounding. Great value too, it's stainless steel. Sounds awesome in many different configurations.
