Default wierd starting problem after headers

well i finnaly was able to get a few good miles on the headers and whet ive noticed is that it doesnt like to start once warmed up. In order to get it to start, I have to hold the pedal to the floor. Otherwise it will just keep turning over. When the car is cold, it will start no problem like it should. Why is this doing it when its warm? I was just thinking that it could be running too rich, and is fouling the plugs. should this be tuned before i drive more like this or will the computer adjust over time.

Thanks--Jarett

Make sure you plugged back in the ect sensor on the drivers side. Sound like you forgot to do that .

Sometimes the header can heat the starter making the starter not start

Yea, I'm thinking faulty starter but there are also a few sensors that will do that too.

Is the car throwing codes? Maybe you whacked the crank position sensor when putting the headers in and the heat is effecting it now ? Could also be the coolant temperature sensor is busted.

Just some ideas.

it could have to do with the collant temp sensor? because it is busted. i kinda pulled the plug right off the prongs. Then i put it back on and it works sometimes. I just havent gotten around to getting a new one since i wont be driving the car much, if at all untill april

good luck finding the coolant sensor besides getting it at your dealear...you have a 98 like mine and we have the stupid 3 prong ect sensor instead of the 2 prong one use on later years...trust me, this sensor controls a lot and your car is most likely running super rich and stuck in closed loop (cold start)...this means your pcm thinks the car is like the same temp as the temperature outside making it think it needs to be dumping fuel and that the car isnt warming up. i just did this so i know exactly the night and day effects of replacing it...you will be very happy when you do. I'm gonna go ahead and change my plugs soon too because i ran 3 days like this due to this being my dd and I recommend you change your plugs to due to them getting run so rich. hope this helps you out man...

Not to hijack the thread here, but how did it act? Sometimes the oil pressure will be fine, then other times it falls to 35 and fluctuates. I think Its time for a new unit.
