Strange "whizzing" noise

Strange "whizzing" noise I know this is probably the wrong section but here goes anyway.
When I'm in a low gear,usually 2nd or third and I hold the revs at about 2500 - 3000rpm when driving( not so noticable when not driving ) like going round a roundabout there is what I can only describe as a whizzing sound that I believe could be a pulley bearing gone dry.The closest sound would be a supercharger whine, but unfortunately I haven't found the invisble procharger under my hood!

power steering is my best guess. check the fluid level. it its full check for a cream colored goo in it, that means your getting colant in the power steering and that would make it go bad. if thats the case its most likley your log(metal pipe in your upper radiator hose) thats bad. but most likley its just low on fluid.
