carbed ls1 I have the msd controller and the engine is breaking up real bad around 5500 rpm maybe tach is off, i shouldnt have any valve float at 5500 should i? could a lean misture cause it? How about to much timing, #1 pin is 35 at 6100

What are you using for coil packs? If they are MSD's also , I would do a search on this site. I know there were some folks that had high rpm ignition issues that were traced back to those coils.

a friend had the same problem.(tj88z28)on here
turned out the high side limiter was set at 5500 from the factory.
he used my msd hand held controller part#7550
and rest the limiter. problem solved.
for what its worth, i have the same box 6010
and i didnt have this issue
