Default pacesetter headers... edelbrock ti-tech coating - come in.

does anyone have any complaints on the pacesetter headers.

my application will be 346, tsp heads/cam, ls6 intake, and pacesetters? does anyone see a reason why i should go a different header.

i know kooks 1 7/8 would probably make more power, but i dont see it being more than 5-10rwhp on a 346. do yall?

there are 500 hp 346 cars using 1 3/4 inch primary tubes, it's plenty. I love my Pace Setters, but if I were doing it again I would have gotten the coated ones.

Just make sure to get the coated ones. I've had mine about 3 years and they have some light surface rust down by the collectors. As mentioned 1 3/4" primaries are plenty.

:cough: Edelbrock LTs :cough: couple bucks more and extremly high quality. Look for a thread by Bigsticksupra, he bought BOTH and took pics...see for yourself. NOT to say ANYTHING bad about pacesetter; i have friends ho are runing them, one on a 408 iron block and another is a 383 (LSx engines obviously) and they're happy with'em. I just think if your gunna spend the $$ its worth checkin out that thread.

Well as far as the coating goes, i honestly don't know (look in sig) but what i was hinting at was the welds, collector sizes and overall quality. Hopefully someone'll chime in with more info on the coating, but like i said ALOT of people are happy with Pacesetters and stuff, well except for the one guy who (in recent threads) had his pacesetters rub/burn a hole in his oil filter.

i read that thread as well.

im in a agreement that the edelbrock headers look much better from all aspects. i was curious about the coating..

i have had experiance with flp headers which is what i ran on my last car, but im not real sure who sells them today. besides for what the flp's cost, i could of gotten kooks.

i also put a set of flowtech headers on my friends car.. the only negitive thing i have to say about them, was what a bitch they where to put in compared to my flp's.

another thing... does the race header get rid of all the air fittings or just the back two?

i was under the impression that the back (normally located in y-pipe) two air fitting could be deleted out of the the pcm, but the front(located in header) two air fittings are required to stay.

they get rid of the AIR and EGR fittings on the top of the primaries by the flange. the O2 bungs will always be there on any header. you NEED them in order for your car to run right. IDK if the front O2's can be tuned out or not. i know the back ones can. the ones located in the collector of the header are the front O2' bungs, not AIR fittings, they are up by the flange where it meets the motor.

I got the Pacesetter coated "race" headers and TSP ORY for the 02 for like $550 about a year ago. How much is the "blow-out" special selling for? Off-topic: The TSP ORY has some fitment issues. The ubolts are too long. If you could get some better mounts(more flush mounted) you'd be cookin'!

You should get like 15rwhp from the headers/ypipe though.

The ubolts that connect the y pipe(its shipped in little section) is just long. Too long depends on if the vehicle is lowered, ypipe location etc..The ubolts just hang low, at least for me. You could maybe get some shorter ubolts from your local hardware store or grind TSPs ubolts down a bit if you have clearance issues. Which you won't necessarily have. I did. It's a quality pipe, though. Hope this helps!

All the O2 sensors can be turned off if you go Speed Density. I have no O2 sensors on my car and two big bolts plugging my front O2 bungs.

I just finished installing my pace setters in this morning and I LOVE'EM, they slid right in from the bottom, no problem, no need to hack, cut or bend anything. I got them jet hot coated "inside and out" not just on the outside. They sell them like that at Maryland speed, who I believe are a sponsor and the best thing is they carry a lifetime warranty!!!!!!!! Goood LUck
