Advantages of coating stainless headers
Hi, I'm getting close to putting on Kooks, I was wondering everyone's thoughts on coated versus non-coated stainless headers. Obviously, as stainless, they don't really NEED it. Best I can tell, people say they keep underhood temperatures lower, and might help plug wires a little. Is this true? Any other advantages or drawbacks?

From what I understand, it helps keep the heat inside increasing exhaust gas velocity, and reducing underhood temps. Other than that it's just cosmetic.
IMO with stainless, just polish the headers and save $200+.

Out of all the "race cars" ive seen that use stainless exhuast, none of them are coated, and these are the people that have no problem spending thousands for a half hp.
