Q. pinning a balancer & keyway on the crank

Q. pinning a balancer & keyway on the crank The engine is a forged 383 by LPE, the crank is a Lunati (#5140).
I was planning on installing an ASP balancer, using just an ARP bolt.
But once we took off the stock balancer, we noticed this crank is already keyed. So now I'd like to pin the balancer to the crank....but the ASP is not keyed.
So, a few questions:
1. I assume the ASP balancer isnt the right choice if I want to pin the balancer?
2. What balancer would be a good fit for this...ATI, SLP, others?
3. What do I need to buy and use as a pin? None of the kits i've seen advertised supply a pin. I dont think I need the whole pin kit (for over $100) from ATI...do I?

Modify the balancer I'm going to have my machine shop cut a keyway slot into my balancer. I had pinned the balancer in my 347, but my new 402 has keyways on the crank.
I think it will be eaiser in the longrun.

At it again I see.
If you have a key there is no need to use a pin. I would rather have a key than a pin any day. Dont pin it.
I agree with RGKSR take the balancer over to a machine shop and have them cut key slot in it. I would be a bit apprehensive about drilling a crank snought that already has a key slot. No reason to make more holes than needed.
Can all ways go with a ATI unit, they come keyed. .
