BGRA question
hey guys im looking pretty intently for a bill green ram air setup and i searched ls1tech and didnt find much other than people saying how great they are. i am interested in one and if anyone could even point me in the right direction for parts i thaught maybe i could build the rest or even the whole setup would be awesome. my only worry is water getting into the intake, i could be wrong but it seems like it is very possible. does anyone have any info on any water problems with this setup. id appreciate any info anyone can provide thanks

Its possible I am sure if you drive it into a lake or somethin. But many people have driven through rain storms and had no problems. I believe they even said that the filter was bone dry. So dont stress about the water.

Not quite sure I understand what you're asking...that is a pic of my intake set up. I made a box inside of the hood flowing directly into the airbox sealed together by weather stripping.

BirdMan I've had the BG for over 4 years now and driven with it through the worst shyt!!!! Like winter storms, super down pours where you can't see a damn thing in front of you and " absolutely" no probs. Just drill a few holes in the lid for water drain off. 1 in the center and 1 in each corner.
So unless you plan on going to the back roads and muddin' it I wouln't worry.

Did you guys take your plastic screens out on your hood? I have the rain blocker but it always seems to slip out. Ive felt dampness in the airbox , but never noticed the filter being wet.

Birdman let me restate that I drilled the drain holes in the Volant lid not the BGRA, sorry about that. Yeah mine is debaffled and I haven't had any issues and that's even without the rain blocker.

its pretty easy to make your own. My parents were putting aluminum siding up so I took a couple of pieces and bent them up to fit in the hole, after removing the baffles. Then I put some styrofoam rubber pieces and lined the inside where the hood meets the air intake on engine. I wanted to use rubber stripping, but couldn't find any laying around the house, so I just used what I had. IT came out pretty well and I've checked the air filter after heavy downpours and the airfilter never seems to get wet. I just take it easy in the rain so as not to pull any water in. Even driving on the freeway hasn't resulted in any water coming in, so I wouldn't worry about that. I will try and take some pics for you so you can see. By the way hardware stores sell rolls of aluminum that are inexpensive that you could use, it bends real easy and easy to cut.
