Relocating battery?

Relocating battery?

Trying to get some opinions on whether I should relocate my battery or not? How much of a pain is it to relocate it? I'm looking at Summit's battery relocation kit, it's only $70 and has the box, all the wiring, connectors and everything. I currently have a bad battery cable anyway and was going to have to replace the positive and negative anyway so I figure I might as well buy the kit and put it it the back while I'm at it.

do it more weight off the front and in to the back were it needs to be

Anyone know how the box secures down to the chassis? I'm guessing you have to drill into the body to secure down the box and to run your wires, am I right? It never says anything about it in the description.

here's my opinion: Its good to shift the weight, but then again, you have to add like 20 lbs of heavy wiring and bracketing to do it right.

Yea, I've thought about that too. Do you guys think that the kits have everything I need to do the install or am I going to need anything extra?

those summit kits arent worth it. wire is just too small and used mainly for older rides
i relocated my battery and ran 2/0welding cable

when you relocate your battery you must also have a master kill switch on the outside rear of the car.....this is per NHRA rules if you ever want to run at the track. Just keep that in mind. and as far as adding weight so what 20 lbs of battery and cable ok so go out and get one of those ultra light batteries that weighs like 15 or 20 lbs so then you just shaved like 25 lbs off the battery and added like 15 lbs of wire n **** so really you still saved about a couple lbs ....if your that much of a wieght reduction freak that is!!!
