"Stinking" cats
Greetings
I had both 'cats' replaced (by a Chev dealer) on my 01 Z28 a couple of days ago.
Anyway, the car really reeks SOOOOOOO bad now!!!! It's got that funky new 'cat' smell. Got about 100 miles so far and the stink is just slightly less than when I first picked up the car.
How long in time (or how many miles) do new 'cats' stink? I had the cats replaced on my 88 and I vaguey remember them sligthly stinking initially.................. but NOWHERE near what these pups smell like.
Thanks
JohnG

Haha...well, it could take a while for them to break in...
Plus, I'm sure there is oil, grease, fingerprints, etc everywhere that needs to completely burn off...
But, I would figure within 100 miles most of it would be gone...hmm...

I had one of my cats replaced right after I got the car last Summer before I put the LT's on. Mine smelled for about a week or so but I didn't drive the car every day. It will go away........
