air pump removal???
air pump removal??? when i had my headers installed they left off those ir pump tubes and said that i dont need them anymore. the headers have a flange for them, but the flanges are capped.
i just wanted to know what they are for and if it hurts things to have them off. I assume its for emmissions, which i would need, but since my headers wont pass smog anyways, i guess theres no point.

It recirculates air into the exhaust for emissions. It should throw a code but doesn't effect performance. Will cause you to fail visual inspection however. Anyone with HP Tuners can delete the code for you. If its not hooked up, might as well take out the air pump (behind drivers fog light) save a couple of pounds

The air system gets the cats up to proper temp faster for emmisions. You don't need them but if they left the whole system in the car but not hooked up (which is very half assed) you could just hook them back up.
take uot the air pump without ahving it hooked up its worthless. its under the drivers side air dam peices. theres like 6 botls holding it on but you need a long extension
