Default 1 Chamber question

I am getting ready to change the mufflers on my TSP true duals and am deciding to which size one chambers to go with. My idea is to buy the 2.5 inlet/outlet and cut the ends off and weld 3 inch pipe in. I noticed that the case size was 3 inch and I figure it is possible but am wondering if it has been done before? Or if anyone that has 2.5's thinks it is possible. I would go with the 3 inch inlet/outlet but i figure it would be nice to have a smaller case for clearance since I am lowered on Strano springs.

Yeah I plan on adding pipe and doing some bending so I can swap in the flows or put the sweet thunders back on. So what your saying is that if I get the 2.5's the 3 inch pipe would be too big since the case is only 2.5?

I have the 3in single chambers on my TSP duals. I added some piping, somewhere around 16in maybe, then put the mufflers there.

The case on the 2.5" in/out single chambers is 3" tall, but I don't see how you plan on sticking a 3" pipe into a 2.5" hole.

When I had my exhaust built, they expanded the 2.5" inlet to just slide in the 3" pipe, then I used 2.5" after that.

I believe the cases are the same size on both the 2.5" inlet and the 3" inlet. I remember trying to find one with a thinner case back when I put the 1-chambers on my Camaro.

The case sizes are different between the two. The 3" case is 6.25"X9.75"X4" while the 2.5" case measures 5.5"X8"X3".

Well I ordered the 1 chambers today and went with the 3 inch since I figured it would not make that big of a difference.

jmm98LS1 The case on the 2.5" in/out single chambers is 3" tall, but I don't see how you plan on sticking a 3" pipe into a 2.5" hole.

What I had planned on doing was cutting the tapper off where the 2.5's go from the case to the 2.5 and just welding the 3 inch pipe in there. I also heard your sound clip and that is what made me decide to go with the ASA and the 1 chambers instead for the torquer 3 I was set on. So thanks!
