Default cool heads..

I'm going to be installing my headers soon, but someone told me I shouldn't drive my car the day I'm going to install them. He said it would lower the chance of stripping the heads and make it easier. If I was to drive it, as soon I got home I would start on it. What do you guys think?

I think youl be fine just letting the car cool down for one hour or two before starting to remove the manifolds and installing your new headers! thats what my friend did on my car!

What about the bolts, should I use the stockers or the bolts that came with the pacesetters?

I really don't think you'll be wanting to start that job IMMEDIATELY when you get home. I did mine on a completely cool engine, You won't be doing that job with hot pipes. Reuse the old bolts and gaskets if their not rusty.

I would get some stage 8 bolts and PB blaster like taited said that stuff does miracles! the reason i say get some 8 bolts is because by the time you get those stockers off some will most likely be threaded and you wont be able to use them again! but maybee youl get lucky!

I would reuse the stock metal gaskets. just wipe them down with some pb blaster or wd 40. The gaskets pacesetter supplies aren't very good.

If you are installing these your self, spend some coin on the arp studs, you can thread in the front and the rear one then set the gasket on the them and you will have a great hanger to set the headers on from underneath, believe me you will save your self a huge headache for about 70 bucks and there stainless and look great.

Thankfully I'll have a few helping hands. I want to reuse to stockers, but I was told that anything over 45k should need new ones. My car has 80k...
