Default Race headers?

Well I just made some extra money from selling some stuff so I'm ready to do some headers finally. Now since my car is an 02 ws6 it didn't come with EGR....so if I remove the AIR can I just go ahead and order a set of race headers? Prolly gonna go with Pacesetter's LT's and ORY. I just read the sticky on AIR removal and am VERY ready to get rid of it since it basically does nothing but make an annoying sound at startup....ugh. But I shouldn't get an SES light since I have no EGR right?

Yeah race headers are fine if you remove Air. You may get a ses light, I'm not sure. At any rate most guys can tune that out for you for $20 or so.

Get the armor coated Race style Pacesetters it is worth the little extra $$. You will get a SES light almost immediately upon starting the car after the header install and !AIR. There are a couple codes for the AIR; I think P0410 is one of them. I had them tuned out along with the codes for deleting the rear 02's. You dont have to have them tuned out immediately. They will not affect the performance of the motor. You will just have the SES light staring at you until you get them tuned out.

Don't worry about the SES Light, in modern cars they will come on if you look at your gauges wrong. Plus a tune is easy enough normally, go with the Race Headers!!!

Well looks like I'm gonna go with those race headers since everybody seems to like them so much...and they're race headers!! Well hopefully I'll be ordering them within the next week or so and I get my stuff from summit in like one day But one question...my intake is stock, should I get the lid and bellows first?

The bellows is a waste of money and the lid is a must. The race headers are much better since they are less welds to break and gets rid of the AIR System.

Really. A lot of people have told me they felt a good gain when they did the lid and bellows? Well I'll prolly be getting a good check from my auto insurance company cuz they've been charging me money for being at fault in an accident I wasn't at fault for. So with that I'll be doing the intake and prolly just put the exhaust and intake on at the same time. Then off to the dyno!

The lid.....yes. The bellows has no measureable gain. The stock lid has a pair of air silencers that slows the air flow down. The aftermarket lids eliminate this and has better contour inside the lid to channel air flow. Now, I would consider a ported/polished throttlebody. The stock TB does not allow for smooth airflow and bore can be enlarged. I bought mine for $150 from Mark Shaner and I noticed an immediate improvement afterwards. So, pair up two proven mods and head off to the dyno for the before and after.

Yeah I've considered a new TB but for now I'll stick with the stock one. But another question I have is this...is it good or bad to descreen the MAF? Cuz I know some people call it a "free mod" but some guy told me that it wasn't good to do cuz it could make my car run lean or possibly rich.
