Default Reuse stock cats?

After getting Pacesetter's
I was thinking of trying to reuse my stock cats for a custom Y to save some $$.

Can this be done? or would I have clearance issues?
How much HP would I giving up over aftermarket cats?

I suppose you could....Problem is the ID of the stock cats is smaller than the 3" ID pipe most guys use for a Y pipe. On top of that, depending on your year, the driver side cat has a funky inlet

If you were making interchangable pipes so you could swap them in for emissions testing, it would be worth reusing them. Otherwise get some high flow ones.
