Header Gaskets which way do they go on?
As some of you know im taking my stock header bolts off and replacing them with some Stage 8 bolts, mainly due to a small exhaust leak. When I was checking for leaks I noticed the leaks sounded the same from both sides when I was under the car when it was running. I was thinking maybe I put on the gaskets wrong?? I put the Percy's gaskets on with the puffy side facing towards the fenders and the indented side facing the block. Also the smalls tabs were pointing to the front of the car.
Is this correct? Im just making sure before I put on some stage 8's.

I know the factory ones are marked for the cylinder head/manifold sides and also top and bottom. If you still have your old stock ones laying around, you might be able to compare to your percy's and figure it out.
Or, just go to GM and get some factory gaskets and use them. You rarely hear of the factory ones leaking.

The Percy's gaskets aren't labled. I put the smooth side toward the header and they worked fine. You'll have to trim the ends of the gaskets so they won't hit the temp sensor on the driver side head, and the coolant plug on the passenger side. You can do this with some scissors.
