I just bought an EWP!
All went smoothly except I had to grind a bit off the bottom of the throttle body's cam. I used the 180 deg thermostat and I did not drill wholes through it. The car is running just a smidgen cooler than when it was stock. I may try a 160 or maybe drill a couple holes in the 180. I may also install a manual override for the fan control.
BTW, I re-used the stock water spout (The Meziere one is like $110!). I ported the inside of that sucker and got rid of the extra metal. I also gave a quick polishing to the belt tensioner and spout.
The pump looks pretty sweet in there.

well actualy I was late and missed the GP. I contacted him and he made me a deal I couldn't refuse though.
He sent me a thermostat too so now I have an extra so I dont think he knew about Meziere's new plan either. It was cool with me. I didnt have to drill the t-stat and actualy just looked into the neck to make sure it was there. Was tooooo easy
Then used a bosch relay and the ign wire relay like the howtosite shows an it works perfect. Looks so sexy in there too~

Yesterday I managed to install a 160 deg stat without scratching anything.
- For better access, I removed the TB, the accessory belt tensioner, and the water pump bolt just below the spout.
- I wrapped the jaws of my largest channel locks with a few layers of electrical taped. I carefully put the jaws to the hex portion of the spout, gave it a squeeze and carefully turned it loose.
Initially, I tried to undo the spout using a rubber strap wrench but it just slipped....so just wrap some big old channel locks with electrical tape and have at it - carefully!
EDIT: Also, don't bother trying to install the Mr Gaksket brand thermostats - they won't fit! Get the cheapo generic brand and you're good to go.
