Cleaned / Oiled Filter....Idle Problems???
However, it wasn't the amount of oil I used cause I only used just enough to cover the pleats...
It was the fact that I installed it right away before any of the residual oil had a chance to fully soak in
Now whenever I clean/re-oil, I use plenty of oil (an entire can of the new style spray), but I let it sit in the sun for a full day before installing it....
Haven't had a problem since

On a sidenote, I've seen countless back to back dynos comparing paper and oiled filters and the results have always been little or no gain....
The ONLY reason why I have a K&N in my car is the mere fact that it came with it...
And the ping pong ball test is the biggest crock of marketing **** I've ever seen lol
K&N gave us one for display at my shop and it had clear instructions NOT to oil the supplied K&N filter
So of course, after one day of seeing the ball float to the top with the dry K&N, I oiled it and the ball was just barely on par with the supplied paper filter

It didn't end there though
I've always had my suspicions about the paper filter used on these displays, so I tried to get a matching filter from our parts room and couldn't find one
In fact, I couldn't even find a match at any of the local parts stores
It was as if these filters were specifically made just for the display
Closest thing I could find was the filter on our pressure washer with a Honda motor....
It dropped right in, but had a small gap on one side, so I taped it up and turned on the fans....
The ball would hit the top with only HALF the power the K&N needed

And this was with a filthy paper filter to boot!!
That being said, low velocity flow numbers don't mean much to me at all and if they don't show consistant gains on the dyno where it counts, then it's just not worth it.....
My $.02
