Default slp loudmouth 1 question

hey guys im here in beautiful cali where they of course love to hate us, i got a stock exhaust right now with a e-cutout and my buddy has a slp loudmouth exhaust i think its a 1 becuase the muffler is skinny(i think its a lm1). and he wants to trade me just my stock muffler because he dosent want to get messed with. so my question is is my car just as loud now with a e-cutout then it would be with a lm1? and is lm1 50 state legal? thanks guys and sorry if i dont make sense lol

You will be kicking yourself if you buy it. I absolutely hate mine...and my tsp catted Y. I am getting a pacesetter ORY and a magnaflow soon. The bad part of the LM is all of the joints in the pipe. If your friend used U clamps to put it together (like most people do) then the pipes are crimped...in other words, good luck getting them apart and then back together for your car. I could never get mine to fit right with my Y pipe, so my LM tailpipes rest on the bumper. Yeah, terrible I know. Can we say melted bumper? IMO stay away from it. You are in a much better situation with your cutout! Now, i will say that when i had my stock y pipe the LM worked fine and sounded good. But if headers are even remotely possible in your future then you should run away screaming and flailing your arms around wildly when he asks if you want to trade for a LM!

If you still have stock manifolds and cats, its just gonna sound really good. Its gonna be almost as loud as your cutout, but it sounds great on stock exhaust. The loudmouth tends to get raspy and really loud with longtubes and ORY's.

When you get your LM1 or LM2 catback, spend the extra bucks and get the band clamps and ditch the u-clamps that come with these systems. It makes the install alot easier, appears professional looking, and easy to remove the system intact since there would be no crimped pipes to deal with.

Ahhh, its not that bad...compared to dual cutouts on my ORY right behind my headers. I had the loudmouth with this setup before. The loudmouth was actually alot quieter than the cutouts...

It isn't the most refined sounding exhaust with headers and no cats, I ended up switching out the resonator on mine. Some people like it though, all two or three of them!

I didnt say that I didnt like it, just letting him know what he is getting with it. I am actually getting my old Loudmouth system back off of a friend of mine who has been pulled over a couple times for being too loud...he has an LT1 with headers, loudmouth, and a TH350 with 3.73 gear. I am trading him my stock catback with the magnaflow muffler in it.
