To weld the y-pipe and over the axle pipe?
I've got a rear mount turbo system and I'm not sure weather to put this in the forced induction or exhaust forum. I was checking for intake leaks and found a smal one near my BOV. With that fixed I moved onto the exhaust side, where I noticed when I plug the tail pipe I get a whistle out of the two joints. Even with out putting a huge restriction in the tail pipe I get the leak. I know if I get them welded I'll never get them apart! I've used hi-temp rtv but that did't work! Anybody else dealt with this? any suggestions? (Don't be a wise a$$ and say get a front mount )

Summit has a ball and flange exhaust connection but the damn Y-pipe is
2 3/4 the flange is for 2.5-3.0. The leak is not there at idle but as soon as there is some back pressure I know its leaking. My guess is that im between 2:1 and 3:1 pressure ratio. so thats 16 -24 psi in the exhaust. This leak is causing a huge increase in rpm for full boost!!! I'm really thinking of having it welded but I aslo don't want to. What else can I do?
